## AI and MCP

### Which AIs work with Dunjn?

Any AI reachable from an MCP (Model Context Protocol) client: Claude on claude.ai, in Claude Desktop and in Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other compatible clients. You keep your subscription with the AI provider. The procedure is in [Connect an AI to Dunjn](/en/docs/connect-an-ai/).

### Does Dunjn work without an AI?

Yes. Dunjn is first a campaign wiki with a rich editor, a session notebook, a combat tracker, character sheets and a player portal. The AI is a faster way to fill it, not a requirement.

### What exactly can the AI do?

Read your campaigns, entities, sessions, world notes, roll tables and images. Create and edit entities, relations, sessions, encounters, notes (section by section), tags and roll tables. Upload images. The exact list of tools and prompts, generated from the server code, is in [MCP tools and prompts](/en/docs/mcp-tools-and-prompts/).

### Does Dunjn generate text itself?

No. Your client's model does the writing. Dunjn calls no generation model, consumes no AI credits and bills none.

### Does the AI see my secret notes?

Yes. Connected with your account, it acts with your game master rights and sees everything you see. Your players only see what you make visible.

### Can I limit what the AI can do?

Yes. An API key can be read-only and restricted to specific campaigns. OAuth permissions distinguish reading (`dunjn:read`), writing (`dunjn:write`) and semantic search (`dunjn:rag`, optional and off by default). You can revoke a key or a connected application at any time from your profile.

### How many API keys can I create?

Up to 20 active keys per account.

### What are the Council of Mages prompts?

Six ready-made prompts your AI client invokes like a command: Salmanazar (general-purpose GM assistant), Melchizedek (entity creation), Balthazar (lore and notes), Nabuchodonosor (encounters), Jeroboam (full session preparation), Rehoboam (formatting notes). They are included in every plan.

## Your data

### Who owns what I create?

You do, 100%. Dunjn claims no rights over it, trains no model on your content and does not sell it. Details are in the [legal notice](/en/legal/).

### Where is the data hosted?

In Europe, with a daily backup. The technical providers are listed in the [privacy policy](/en/privacy/).

### Can I get my data out?

Yes. Your AI can read the whole campaign through MCP and hand it back in the format of your choice: Markdown, JSON, plain text.

### What happens if I delete my account?

Your campaigns and files are erased. Technical logs are purged within 90 days.

### What does the AI provider do with my data?

The AI reads your campaigns with your own account at its provider. What that provider does with the data is governed by its terms, not Dunjn's.

## Plans and trial

### How much does it cost?

Three monthly plans: Artificer at €5 (3 campaigns, 1 GB of images), Wizard at €9 (6 campaigns, 3 GB), Archmage at €19 (unlimited campaigns, 5 GB). MCP access and the six prompts are included everywhere. There is no free plan.

### How does the trial work?

30 days on every plan, no credit card. During the trial you have the Wizard plan.

### What happens when the trial ends?

Your data is kept. You pick a plan to reopen your campaigns and find everything where you left it.

### Why isn't the AI billed?

Because Dunjn does not run it: your assistant runs on your subscription with its provider. Plans differ by space, campaigns and images, not by an AI quota.

## At the table

### Which game systems are supported?

Character sheets and encounter difficulty analysis exist for 5E (SRD 5.2.1) and Daggerheart. A free-form mode welcomes any other system: the wiki, sessions, roll tables and the combat tracker (initiative, hit points) do not depend on the rules.

### Do my players need an account?

For the player portal, yes, and it is free. They see their sheets and what you make visible, never your secret notes.

### Which entity types does the wiki know?

Player characters, NPCs, monsters, places, factions, items, quests, encounters, religions, spells, peoples, languages, events. Each entity links to others through named relations, is filed in folders and tagged, and appears in the relation graph.

### How does a session work?

Each session has a status (planned, active, completed), prep notes, live notes and a summary. The editor handles skill checks, entity cards, collapsible blocks and roll tables. The AI can write section by section without overwriting the rest.

### What does the combat tracker do?

Before the game, it rates an encounter's difficulty: XP and challenge rating in 5E, battle points in Daggerheart. During the game, it keeps initiative order and hit points.

## Practical

### Which languages?

Interface and documentation in French and English.

### Can I import my existing notes?

The simplest way is to hand them to your connected AI: it files them into Dunjn with the MCP tools (entities, notes, sessions). There is no dedicated file importer.

### How do I contact you?

By email: contact@dunjn.io.
